2016 standard bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has asked the people of Tepa in the Ashanti Region to look at their standard of living and make the right choice on Election Day (December 7).
Dr. Nduom, who was the toast of the people of Tepa on Friday, August 5, 2016 was addressing a mammoth rally in the town.
He also used the opportunity to sell his job creation message to the residents in the town.
According to him, this year’s election would be determined by who is the best in creating jobs since unemployment has become the bane of the economy.
Admitting that both Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were good at their respective professions—law and communication— respectively.
However, he said they are not cut for the presidency job.
The reason, Dr. Nduom explained, was because “because they [President Mahama and Nana Addo] don’t have the technical-know-how to create jobs.”
He noted that what Ghanaians need, particularly the youth, are jobs and not who can defend “you well in court or talk for you.”
To this end, he urged the electorate in Tepa to vote for the right person who has what it takes to solve the unemployment situation in the country.
“And I ’m the right person to do that. I will not promise you jobs because I have already given you jobs,” Dr. Nduom said, amid thunderous applause from the crowd.
He used the occasion to introduce the party’s parliamentary aspirant for Tepa constituency, Mr. Daniel Kyei, to the people.
He further urged them to vote for him (Daniel Kyei) to represent them in the next Parliament.
Earlier, Dr. Nduom and his entourage paid a courtesy call on Tepamanhene, Nana Dr. Adusei Atwenewa Ampem, at his palace.
Dr. Nduom sought for wisdom, support and blessings from the chief as he makes his third attempt at the presidency.
Welcoming the PPP presidential hopeful, Nana Dr. Adusei declared his unflinching support for Dr. Nduom and the PPP parliamentary nominee.
He was full of praise for Dr. Nduom for his entrepreneurial skills which, he said, have brought jobs to many young Ghanaians.
