prestea huni valley ppp edmund duku

Born on the 18th September, 1983. Edmond Duku had his secondary education at Akim Swedru High School. He attended Accra Polytechnic for his tertiary education and holds HND in Marketing. In September 2011, I enrolled into a degree program (BSc Marketing, Distance Education-Takoradi Centre) in the University of Cape Coast and graduated in June 2014. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ICM-UK) and has attended several workshops and conferences that has enhanced my professional outlook. He further enrolled in Commonwealth Executive Masters in Business Administration with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and expected to graduate next year.

Duku joined First National Savings and Loans, now GN Bank in 2010 as a Credit Officer and has risen through the ranks to become a Branch Manager (Prestea Branch) by dint of hardwork.

As a branch manager of GN Bank, I have been able to increase total deposits over 100% and total clientele base by 50% through intensive marketing and good leadership skills. I also contributed` in spending within expected budget and reducing the branch expenses by 15%.

In May 2008, Duku was elected as the Vice president for TESCHART Accra Poly Chapter, a student wing of the Convention Peoples’ Party. During my tenure of office, He was able to accelerate the registration of members on campus. He also, on several occasions represents the group on most of the political debates organized on campus.

He joined the Progressive Peoples’ Party in Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency in 2012 when the party was officially lunched. He showed interest in the Progressive Peoples’ Party because of agenda for Change built on four pillars of Stewardship, Education, Healthcare and Jobs. This agenda uses the spirit of inclusiveness that taps into the talent of the best Ghanaians and invites the full participation of women and the youth; and with incorruptible leadership, good governance will translate into job creation and provide prosperity for many.

He is seeking the mandate of the people in his constituency to ensure that the political agenda of the ‘PPP’ is achieved when elected as MP.  When elected as MP, he will:

  • Establish constituency common scholarship fund to support brilliant students both nationally and internationally
  • Award on yearly basis the best students with best result from the JHS and SHS in the constituency
  • Establish elderly common fund to cater for the aged in my constituency who do not receive monthly social security from the formal sector.
  • Provide ambulances for emergency responses in the constituency
  • Promote youth football and other sporting activities to motivate youth talents
  • Support community infrastructural development.

I am very fluent in English Language and very good writing skills with excellent knowledge in computer and internet.
