Nduom raps Zongos

Nduom at zongo

Progressive People’s Party (PPP) presidential hopeful for the December 7 polls, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, says a PPP government will bring economic prosperity to people living in Zongo communities in the country.

Speaking at a mini-rally during the party’s Ashanti regional tour last week at Moshie Zongo in the Manhyia-North constituency in Kumasi, Dr. Nduom chided successive governments for failing to improve on the living conditions of people in Zongo communities.

Consequently, he called on the electorate in the constituency to join the numerous progressive minded Ghanaians and vote for the PPP in the December 7 general elections.

He could not understand why people living in the Zongos should be neglected by governments when “their small, small taxes contribute to the GDP growth of the country.”

According to him, the Zongo communities must have their share of the national cake, and also be made part of the governance of this country.

The PPP flag-bearer also used the occasion to introduce the party’s parliamentary aspirant for the Manhia-North constituency, Bertrin Amponsah Biritwum, to the constituents.

He further called on the constituents to vote for the PPP’s parliamentary aspirant for better development in the constituency.

Addressing party supporters and some sympathisers, Ms. Bertrin Amponsah Britwum noted that Manhyia-North constituency should have been “far, far ahead in development, but due to bad leadership, the place was still lagging behind.

She reiterated her party’s commitment to ensure good leadership that would enhance the livelihood of the people in the area.

What we need in this constituency now is a selfless leader who will always be at your service and will also be loved by all,” she added.

Earlier, the PPP leader donated 100 bags of cement, sand and stones to the Widows Association of Moshie Zongo towards a construction of a house for the widows.

Dr. Nduom who was touched by the plight of the widows also promised to pay for the full cost of the roofing when the building is completed.

Expressing her appreciation to Dr. Nduom for his kind gesture, Founder of the Association, Hajia Ajara, said she was surprised that he (Dr. Nduom) quickly responded to their request.

“The donation has come as a huge surprise to the people of Moshie Zongo,” she expressed.

She called on other organisations and individuals to emulate the shining example of Dr. Nduom.
