Progressive People’s Party (PPP) says its national campaign towards winning the December 7 presidential election has taken off in earnest.

In a statement signed and issued to the media yesterday in Accra by the Nduom 2016 Campaign Coordinator, Mr. Richmond Duke Keelson, the PPP said the campaign officially kicked off at the party’s national convention held on July 16, 2016 during which Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom was confirmed as the party’s presidential nominee.

The campaign team, the statement said, had already been to the Volta, Western, Greater Accra and Central Regions, to introduce parliamentary aspirants to the people.

Dr. Nduom, the statement disclosed, will lead national, regional and constituency executives to the Eastern, Ashanti, Northern Regions and back to the Volta and Greater Accra Regions between now and August 16th.

“Once again, the focus will be to showcase the party’s parliamentary aspiramts,” the statement said.

It stated that the campaign will launch into national attention its formidable force of competent men and women, presidential spokespersons, to explain the PPP’s policies and priority programmes.

The statement also stated that the PPP will embark on a national campaign to promote the energy and creativity of Dr. Nduom’s running mate.

PPPThe party, according to the statement, will sell the fact that the PPP has come very far in a very short period of time, stressing the fact that the party has become, clearly, the credible alternative to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“The party has become very visible, strong and well-established throughout the country,” the statement asserted.

According to the statement, the PPP had gained credibility for the many ideas and solutions to provide compulsory, continuous quality education from Kindergarten (KG) to senior high school; eradicate preventable diseases like malaria and cholera; create millions of jobs using “our locally available raw materials; and provide competent, incorruptible leadership that will prevent waste of billions of taxpayers’ money that we will use to fund our transformational initiatives.  Our party is disciplined, respectful and tolerant of opposing views.  Ghanaians love the fact that we are ready to build an inclusive society.”

It hinted that the PPP presidential nominee, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has reintroduced the “Yeresesamu” slogan and has dared  President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC to follow.
