2016 Vice Presidential hopeful of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Ms. Brigitte Dzogbenuku, will embark on a nationwide tour, ahead of the December 7 polls.
The tour, which is themed: “The Bright Awakening,“ will begin in the Volta Region.
This was announced in a statement issued and signed by the PPP 2nd National Vice Chairperson, Berlinda Bulley, in Accra yesterday.
According to the statement, Ms. Dzogbenuku will use the tour to drum home her party’s assertion that “a wasted vote is one that brings unemployment, diseases and an unfriendly economic environment.”
The statement pointed out that Ghanaians were yearning to break away from the duopoly and status quo, “and to support an alternative political party that is set to bring real change to the country as a whole and the many precious lives.”
Ghanaians, according to the PPP, want a government that will break away from the practice of alienation and embrace inclusiveness.
“Ghanaians want a disciplined and committed government that will work with the sole aim of attaining a hallmark of excellence with a sense of urgency,” it added.
In that regard, the statement noted that the PPP was committed to forming a government that will provide “incorruptible leadership, create jobs across the country, ensure a cleaner and healthier society, and ensure the implementation of the FCUBE.”
“Ms. Dzogbenuku will be engaging the electorate to reiterate the point that proper change lies with votes for Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, and the PPP as a whole. She will interact directly with the electorates through small community group meetings, radio stations, and places of work.
Together, we will succeed,” the statement concluded.
